In the United States it has become as much a tradition as the Prom itself to start off the night with a romantic dinner. For many teens this is going to be their first true taste of what a formal date is supposed to be like. Unfortunately many parents, in their rush to help make their child's Prom night be as memorable as possible, forget that what is romantic for the parents is not the same as what is romantic for their teens—nor should it be!
When dealing with a romantic dinner for teens, there is going to be much more to cooking a romantic dinner than throwing a few steaks on the grill and chilling a bottle of wine, least of all because alcohol and teens do not (and should not) mix. Planning a romantic dinner involves actual planning and preparation, especially if you want it to be a surprise for your date. Just use a little creativity and imagination to create a truly memorable (and safe) night.
